Crime Stoppers honored Fort Lauderdale Detectives Mark Shotwell and James Jaggers for their efforts to solve the 25 OCT 2011murder of a 22 year old man.

Utilizing members of the Street Crimes Unit, Detectives Jaggers and Shotwell were able to locate an eye witness that provided detailed information implicating three suspects.  Detectives Jaggers and Shotwell obtained an arrest warrant for one of the suspects, and the suspect was arrested on January 12, 2012.  The suspect confessed to shooting the victim, and gave a statement detailing his co-conspirators’ involvement.  Based upon the suspect’s statement, his two co-conspirators were quickly apprehended, and they too confessed to their role in the brutal slaying.  On February 1, 2012, a Grand Jury indicted all three suspects for First Degree Murder.
